Lose to Help

At WoodCrafters, the health and wellness of our associates and their families is fundamental, which is why we have developed the Lose to Help campaign with the objective of raising health awareness and consciousness, providing employees with valuable and useful information.

Through Lose to Help, WoodCrafters will support our associates by providing a personal trainer, tips, and nutritional and health information. Training exercises, motivational and informational presentations with health and nutrition experts, will also be an important part the program.
 
Throughout this 12 week program, the amount of weight that is lost by the associates will be doubled as a donation for Relay For Life. The donation will be from each person that lost that weight and from WoodCrafters, who will match the amount.
 
As a closure celebration of the program, WoodCrafters will be participating in a 5K Walkathon and soccer tournament for all of our associates and families at a local park in Weslaco, Texas. 

A Successful Relay!

As part of WoodCrafters’ Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, the company participates in the Relay for Life event. For three years now, the organization has been active in the American Cancer Society’s signature activity.

This past April the celebration was centered on the theme “world with more birthdays” at the 10th Annual Mid Valley Relay for Life Event held in Donna, Texas. WoodCrafters, alongside 80 other organizations and schools, was present, including more than 700 WoodCrafters representatives, from associates, to spouses, kids, family members and friends.

One of the most important results was the awareness raised and the unity seen amongst the WoodCrafters family. With each contribution made, each lap walked, it was evident why this is such an important cause for all the members of the organization; it is about being able to help fight the good fight for those who have been affected in each one’s lives, and for those survivors who were there; to Honor them and thank God that they were able to celebrate one more birthday. And for the thousands of families across America, who have fought, are fighting or will have to fight to defeat this disease.

WoodCrafters has left such a positive impression on this event and the Weslaco and Rio Grande Valley community, which is a direct result of how the company has been able to share its values, living with them and through them.

WoodCrafters is grateful to all of the associates and family members for making this event so wonderful and blessed, as everyone at the organization came together, working side by side, by giving back to the community helping to find a cure. Everyone now is looking forward to Relay for Life 2011!
